Some friends and I founded the magazine with 6 different departments: Writing, Graphics, Photography, Social Media, Style & Beauty, and Events.

My role was to manage the Graphic Design and Layout of the publication.

It’s a challenge to start anything from scratch, let alone a magazine. I hired and managed a team of 8 designers to establish the visual identity ofthe magazine.

THE CHALLENGE

Before us, there was no school magazine that was focused on fashion, lifestyle, and culture in the pacific northwest.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Western is an immensely creative school. This gave us plenty of talent to draw from and to make content around.

Be the magazine that encapsulates what its like to be a college student. Craft a brand identity that people want to associate with, featuring a distinct personality and compelling pages that draw readers in.
